Q3: How did you get involved in your sport?

I was the biggest kid in the school, they said ‘throw this” and I was naturally good at it but then I was fascinated with the technique and its challenges.

Q4: How often do you train a week & when do you get time off during the year?

I usually train between 12-13 times a week with each session being between 1.5 – 2 hours. The only time I usually have off is after major championships which is usually 2-3 weeks.

Q5: Do you have a special routine or superstition before competing? if yes, what is it?

I always have my set routine when competing, but superstitions not really. I do in some of the old superstition as shoes on tables, broken mirrors, ladders etc.

Q6: Favourite sport – outside of your own?

A very close toss up between Car racing, golf, boxing and weightlifting.

Q7: Do you follow a particular diet?

I do, it mostly contains monitored portions of less carbs more protein as we are trying to drop body fat.

Q8: Have you overcome serious injury or other set-backs?

In 2013 I had a 4-5 month set back with my lower back which came quite close to getting stress fractures and a week after that was healed and better I then got strep fractures in my right foot.

The incredible atmosphere of Australian supports and seeing family and friends in the crowd.

Q10: One question you get asked too often? 

1. “What do you prefer, discus or hammer” 2. “Does your shoulder get sore from throwing”
