For the first time in 12 years, Australia will host a stop on the Individual Apparatus World Cup circuit for both men and women’s artistic gymnastics. Gymnastics Australia’s bid was successful alongside a further four stops, Germany, Azerbaijan and Qatar and will be held in Melbourne at Hisense Arena from February 22 to 25.

This event will give Australian gymnast and 2010 Commonwealth Games medallist Emily Little the opportunity to continue her stellar campaign on home soil, after collecting a gold in her preferred Vault apparatus and bronze on Floor in the second World Cup event in Cottbus, Germany last year.

While in the men’s, rising star Chris Remkes will look to do one better after winning silver in the Vault final at the Doha World Challenge Cup in Qatar in his bid for 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games selection.

Athletes from 13 countries will compete across two days of qualifications, the top eight athletes on each apparatus will advance to the finals and battle it out for the coveted gold medal title.
