EPISODE 20: Ashleigh Gentle
Ashleigh Gentle secured automatic nomination for next year’s Gold Coast Commonwealth Games by finishing second in the World Triathlon Series race on the Games course in April this year.
Gentle is out to prove herself after she was dealt a huge blow when her bags and bike were lost in transit to Rio 2016 Olympics – days later her bike was delivered with a large crack leaving her unable to participate in the course familiarisation.
In this episode of Gold Coast Gold, Gentle takes us through the unveiling the GC2018 course – the first sprint course in a major event, how a new coach and relocation has altered her game plan and how her resilience shone through in Rio.
