Melissa Paige Li Kun Wu
Melissa Wu (diving) is one of Australia’s most successful divers, having won medals at both the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics. Making her Commonwealth Games debut as a 13-year-old at the Melbourne 2006 Games, she paired with Alexandra Croak to win silver in the 10m synchronised platform event. The experience Wu gained in Melbourne was vital to helping her and partner Briony Cole win silver in the same event at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, in the process becoming the youngest Australian ever to win an Olympic medal in diving. Wu broke through at the Delhi 2010 Games, winning gold in the 10m synchronised pair event and silver in the individual 10m platform event. The four-time national champion went on to compete at the London 2012 Olympics, the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and the Rio 2016 Olympics. Most recently, Wu won gold in the individual 10m platform event at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Coming from a sporting family, Melissa’s younger brother Joshua is an Australian representative weightlifter and her cousin is two-time Commonwealth Games Rugby 7s medallist James Stannard.
