Sebastian Temesi

Sebastian Temesi (judo) is one of three overseas-born members of the Australian judo team in Birmingham, as the Hungarian-born Temesi will make his Commonwealth Games debut in the men’s 90kg. Temesi – who also competes in Mixed Martial Arts, boxing, kickboxing, wrestling and Brazilian ju-jitsu – started in judo aged 7 in his native Hungary and won several national events at a junior level before moving to Australia with his family. The 10-time Australian and three-time Oceania champion has also competed at world championships, Grand Slams and the prestigious World Masters, an invitational event for the world’s top 16 in their weight division. Temesi divides his time between training and coaching out of the Coral Coast Judo Club in Mossman and the Cairns Judo Club in far north Queensland and has his sights on a professional mixed martial arts career under the bright lights of the UFC octagon.
