Commonwealth Games Australia mourns the passing of Australian architect and graphic design pioneer Michael Bryce AM, AE last week aged 82.

The husband of the 25th Governor-General of Australia, Dame Quentin Bryce, was an award-winning architect and graphic and industrial designer, who designed the signage for the Brisbane 1982 Commonwealth Games, was the principal design adviser to the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, personally designing the stylised “Opera House” Olympic bid logo, and the logo for Wallabies rugby union among many other iconic brands.

Michael and Quentin Bryce were married in 1964, they have two daughters, three sons, and ten grandchildren.

Commonwealth Games Australia extends its condolences to Michael Bryce’s family and friends.
