About Boxing

Boxing has appeared on the program of every Commonwealth Games. The Boxing program has changed over the years by the addition of women, new weight categories and the conversion of weight divisions from pounds to kilograms in 1970.

Women’s boxing made its Games debut in 2014 in Glasgow, Scotland featuring 3 weight categories. At the 2018 Games in Gold Coast, Australia, it was doubled to 6 weight categories.

The governing body for Boxing in Australia is Boxing Australia.
