The Netball competition is for women only. It has been included in all Commonwealth Games since 1998 when team sports were first introduced.
It made its first appearance in the 1990 Games as a demonstration sport. It is now obligatory to include Netball on each Commonwealth Games program.
The governing body for Netball in Australia is Netball Australia.

The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games silver medallist has been announced as the 25th national captain of the Diamonds squad, with attacking ace and fellow Gold Coast team member Steph Wood as the Australian Diamonds vice-captain.

After an upsetting 2018 Commonwealth Games campaign, the Australian Diamonds are looking to do one better at the Birmingham games by taking on their rivals on home turf. The Diamonds will compete in the Constellation Cup later this year which will help cement the team for the Birmingham games.
