The Netball competition is for women only. It has been included in all Commonwealth Games since 1998 when team sports were first introduced.
It made its first appearance in the 1990 Games as a demonstration sport. It is now obligatory to include Netball on each Commonwealth Games program.
The governing body for Netball in Australia is Netball Australia.
