Why did you begin your sport?
Neighbours suggested it to prevent being eaten by sharks.
What is your most memorable sporting achievement?
My first individual medal (bronze - 100 fr) - I had been swimming competitively for 5 years beforehand and it was just nice to finally have pyhsciall proof of my efforts.
Who is your hero / idol, and why? Have you ever met them?
Zhaha Hadid. She was an absolute boss lady who dominated a mostly male oriented career field (Architecture). She overcame many obstacles to reach her goals including a harshly sexist field and her own personal health issues. She was an incredible inspiration and an aesthetic genius. I never met her but I was lucky enough to swim in her London Olympic Pool twice and I got to see the last building she worked on in Dubai.
Who has been the most influential person or people in your career and why?
Rod Bonsack - an absolute legend of WA swimming, introduced me to paralympic swimming. Paul Bruce - Best guy in the coaching business, he brought out the best in me as an athlete and as a person.
