Q1: Full name:
Mariah Alice Williams
Q3: How did you get involved in your sport?
My parents/siblings played it plus I’m from a small country town so I tried to play every sport possible.
Q4: How often do you train a week & when do you get time off during the year?
Everyday apart from Wednesday’s and Sunday’s but some times twice a day.
Q5: Do you have a special routine or superstition before competing?
No superstitions but my routine is before every game I will shower, brush my teeth and listen to music. I also like to have a little dance in the change rooms pre game.
Q6: Favourite sport – outside of your own?
Favourite sport outside of hockey would be touch football
Q7: Do you follow a particular diet?
No not in particular. I try to stay away from foods high in sugar and carbs but also processed foods.
Q8: Have you overcome serious injury or other set-backs?
Yes I definitely have had some setbacks in my career so far.
I have had 4 knee surgeries under the age of 21 which has taken a toll in my career but healthy and strong at the moment and that’s all that matters.
Q9: What about GC2018 excites you?
It would probably be having all my family there to support me. My family don’t get the opportunity to come to international games because of work commitments but I’m extremely excited for them to support me.
Also very excited to pull on the green and gold in our country and knowing that everyone in the crowd supports us.
Q10: One question you get asked too often?
‘Did you score a goal’ is certainly the question I get asked often.
