Shooting first appeared on the Commonwealth Games program at the 1966 Games in Kingston, Jamaica. Barring its absence at the 1990 Auckland Games, Shooting has been in every Games since 1974. All events were open to both men and women combined until separate men’s and women’s programs were held from 1994. The exception is Full Bore events which are open to both men and women. The governing body for Shooting in Australia is the Australian Shooting Association.
