Abbey Harkin

Abbey Harkin (swimming) made her Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham where she reached the final of all three individual breaststroke events as well as the 200m individual medley.

Abbey made her first senior Dolphins team at the 2018 World Short Course Championships in China, before claiming her first national title in the 100m breaststroke in 2019 then bagging a medal in all three distances in 2020. She earned the second individual berth in the 200m breaststroke at the 2021 Olympic selection trials, allowing her to make her Olympic debut in Tokyo where she missed the semi-finals by 14/100ths of a second.

Originally from the Hunter Valley in NSW, Harkin attended school in Maitland, Sydney and Brisbane, where she now trains under Dean Boxall at St Peter’s Western.
