Aleisha Power

Aleisha Power (hockey) was Australia’s first-choice goalkeeper for her Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham in 2022.

Aleisha started playing hockey at Northam Hockey Club and moved to Perth as a teenager, going to boarding school while she played hockey. At 13, she made her first state team and at 16 she was selected at junior Australian level. She also played for the WA Diamonds in the Australian Hockey League from 2015 until 2018 before joining the Perth Thundersticks for the inaugural season of the Hockey One league in 2019. Aleisha was first named in Australia’s under-21 squad in 2015 and was selected for the Junior World Cup in 2016 where she was named goalkeeper of the tournament. She made her senior debut in 2017 against Japan but didn’t play again at top level until named in the Hockeyroos side in 2021, though she missed the Olympic squad for Tokyo.

Aleisha is studying business and science (majoring in nutrition) and is an Australian Institute of Sport Mental Fitness Ambassador.
