Bowen Gough

After narrowly missing the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and Tokyo 2020 Olympic teams, Bowen Gough (swimming) was named for his first senior national teams in 2022 – earning a ticket to the Budapest world championships and Birmingham Commonwealth Games after winning the 200m butterfly at the Australian championships. In Birmingham, he missed the podium by just .07 of a second.

Originally from Bass, a small town southeast of Melbourne, Bowen trained at Wonthaggi with the South Gippsland Bass Swimming Club under Ivan Moore and Dylan Muir. He left his family home soon after school and moved to Melbourne to pursue swimming full-time where he joined Nunawading, winning selection for the 2015 world junior championships in Singapore and the World University Games in 2019 in Naples.

He is now part of Michael Bohl’s super squad at Griffith University on the Gold Coast where he is studying a Bachelor of Sports Management at Deakin University.
