Brian Wilkinson
Brian Wilkinson (swimming) represented Australia at the Cardiff 1958 Games, winning bronze in the 220-yard butterfly final and joined John Konrads, John Devitt and Gary Chapman to win gold in the men’s 4×220-yard freestyle relay. Wilkinson competed at the Melbourne 1956 Olympics, making the final in the 200m butterfly where he finished seventh. Hailing from Muswellbrook, in the New South Wales Hunter Valley, Wilkinson became the first member of the Muswellbrook Swimming Club to win a national title when he won the junior 110-yard butterfly championship in 1953.
