Why did you begin your sport?
I was forced to quit playing rugby when I was 15 due to sustaining too many injuries, and I wanted to continue playing a sport, so I decided to try athletics because it looked challenging and I was lucky enough to attend a school that had a tartan track, from then on athletics has been the only sport that I play and care about.
Do you have any pre-competition routines or rituals?
Wear Zinc on my nose, and Pray.
What is your most memorable sporting achievement?
Placing 4th for Australia at this years open nationals, or placing 4th in the 4x400m relay at this years world university games.
Who is your hero / idol, and why? Have you ever met them?
Peter Norman, because of his Olympic achievements and his involvement in the black power salute. Steve Solomon, because of his success at the London 2012 Olympics, I had the pleasure of being able to race him twice at this years national championships.
Who has been the most influential person or people in your career and why?
My coach Stacey Taurima, through his training and philosophy's I have been able to gain a deep love for this sport and also because since training with him I have improved my 400m time by 1.5 seconds.
Do you have any hobbies away from your sport?
I enjoy playing Golf and Fishing.
What is your sporting ambition?
To give myself every opportunity to succeed in the sport, so hopefully when I finish I do not look back and think what if. My main ambition for my career before this season was to represent Australia, and now that I have been able to do that my sporting ambition is to represent Australia as my times as I possible can.
