David Mainwaring

David Mainwaring (triathlon) is heading to his first Commonwealth Games as guide for Jonathan Goerlach in the PTVI category when it makes its Commonwealth Games debut. Mainwaring is a decorated triathlete in his own right competing on the World Triathlon and Australian circuit between 2008 and 2012 before carving out a highly successful professional career on the 70.3/Half Ironman circuit David Mainwaring (  finishing second in the 2019 Challenge Melbourne and sixth in 2018 and fourth in the 2018 IM Busselton 70.3, also competing successfully in races across Australia and Asia Pacific. The Wollongong-based Mainwaring teamed up with Jonathon Goerlach just four months before the Tokyo Paralympics, linking the PTVI para triathlete with his coach Peter Clifford in the Illawarra and the trio have worked together ever since. Dave and wife Holly are the parents of two daughters Zoe and Ivy.
