Dianne Burge

Dianne Burge (athletics) is a former Australian sprinter who won three gold medals at the Kingston 1966 Commonwealth Games. At the Games in 1966 she won the 100-yard and 220-yard sprint double and was a member of the winning 4×110-yard relay. Burge also competed in two Olympic Games, 1964 in Tokyo and 1968 in Mexico City. Winner of the sprint double at the 1968 Australian Championships, running fast times of 11.3 and 23.0, her 100m time set a new Australian record. Twice awarded the South Australian Sports Star of the Year honour, Dianne Burge was named South Australian ‘Athlete of the Century’ by Athletics South Australia and was inducted into the South Australian Sports Hall of Fame.
