Flynn Ogilvie
Flynn Ogilvie (hockey) has been part of consecutive Kookaburras’ gold-medal winning campaigns at the Gold Coast and Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
Flynn discovered hockey at aged five through his family’s passion for the sport – his three brothers and two sisters – all played for University of Wollongong Hockey Club. Flynn had a decorated junior career, including playing at the 2010 Youth Olympics in Singapore where Australia won hockey 5s gold.
The hard-hitting attacker made his senior debut in 2014 in a Test series against India in Perth and has been a regular feature in the squad since – winning gold medals at the 2015 and 2019 Oceania Cup and the Champions Trophy in 2016 and 2018. A serious hamstring injury took him out of play in 2017, but he returned just in time for his Commonwealth Games debut on the Gold Coast. He was also part of the Kookaburras team that won bronze at the 2018 World Cup in India, gold at the 2019 FIH Pro League in the Netherlands and silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Flynn has a degree in exercise science from the University of Wollongong and a Graduate Diploma of Medical Sonography through UniSA.
