Grace Stewart
Grace Stewart (hockey) earned a late-call for her second Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, after Brooke Peris and Courtney Schonell withdrew due to injury. In Birmingham, she played her 100th international for the Hockeyroos in the pool match against New Zealand.
Grace grew up in Gerringong on the NSW south coast and was part of the Illawarra Academy of Sport Hockey squad for several years, graduating in 2014. 2016 was a breakout year for the young forward, moving to Perth to train full-time with the senior Australian team. She made her senior debut at the International Tri-Series in Singapore and impressive performances at the Champions Trophy in London and the Darwin International Hockey Tournament secured an Olympic debut in Rio. She also earned a ticket to her second Olympic Games in Tokyo, where the Hockeyroos bowed out in the quarter finals, as well as the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
Grace is studying to become a primary school teacher.
