Greta Hayes

Greta Hayes (hockey) was among 12 members of the Hockeyroos squad who made their Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham.

Greta first represented Australia’s under-21 side – the Jillaroos – at the 2016 Oceania Cup and Junior World Cup in Chile where Australia claimed bronze. She was added to Australia’s development squad for 2017. The midfielder was elevated to the National Senior Women’s Squad for 2019, having made her maiden Hockeyroos appearance at the Champions Trophy the previous November. It followed a breakout season with the NSW Arrows during their premiership-winning season in the Australian Hockey League. She was also part of the NSW Pride team that won the 2022 Hockey One League, scoring the winning goal in the penalty shoot-out.

Greta has a degree in nursing from Charles Sturt University.
