Gretel Bueta

Gretel Bueta (née Tippett) (Netball) is known for her pure athleticism with her ‘lay-up’ shooting style and accuracy on the netball court. Making her first international debut in 2015 as a part of the Australian Diamonds squad, Bueta has featured in a number of games. Most recently, Bueta shone in the 2022 Quad Series, finishing with a 58-46 win against England where she was awarded player of the match and player of the series. In 2019, Bueta was recognised as International Player of the Year and won the Liz Ellis Diamond award. Bueta made the switch from basketball to netball when she was 18 after representing Australia at an international level and being named the WNBL Rookie of the year in 2011. After taking maternity leave in 2020, Bueta has had a flying start to the 2022 season and is looking forward to making her debut at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
