Hoang (Tran) Pham made his Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham where reached the quarter finals of the men’s doubles with Jack Yu and was eliminated in the round of 16 in the mixed doubles alongside Angela Yu. Sometimes more at home on the doubles court, Tran teamed with Ming Lim to claim the Australian men’s doubles title at the 2020 Australian Championships in Launceston. He also claimed the men’s doubles title with Rizky Ismail at the 2022 nationals in Bendigo, beating Kenneth Choo and Ming Lam in the final. Pham plays at NBC Badminton Club in Sydney which was formed nearly a decade ago and has an Academy program to train and encourage promising juniors
