Ian Hale

Ian Hale (shooting) carried the Australian flag at the opening ceremony of the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria. Hale represented Australia in shooting at five consecutive Commonwealth Games from 1978 through 1994, winning gold, silver and bronze medals. At the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Hale won silver in the skeet singles and bronze in the skeet pairs. In Victoria in 1994, Hale enjoyed his best performance winning gold in the skeet, scoring 144 points, a then Commonwealth record. At the time of the 1994 Games, Hale became the first Australian athlete to compete in five consecutive Commonwealth Games.
