Jake Kavanagh
Jake Kavanagh (3×3 basketball) was part of the Australian men’s wheelchair basketball team that won the event’s inaugural gold medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. Thanks to his mum, Kavanagh signed up to basketball as a child. The point guard and Western Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder has since progressed through the junior and Australia ranks. Making the Franc Ponta Cup All-Star Five in 2018, before winning the 2019 Kevin Coombs Cup with Western Australia, Kavanagh and the Australian Emerging Rollers claimed a fourth-placed finish at the 2019 Fazza International Wheelchair Basketball Tournament. Making his Australian Rollers debut at the 2022 Asia-Oceania Zone Qualifiers, Kavanagh is currently carving it up in the National Wheelchair Basketball League with the Perth Wheelcats.
