Janelle Elford

Janelle Pallister [nee Elford] (swimming) is a triple Commonwealth Games medallist at the Auckland 1990 Games. Pallister won gold, silver and bronze in the Auckland Games, with a speciality in long-distance swimming events. Pallister also became an Olympian in 1988 when she competed in Seoul in the 400m and 800m freestyle events finishing in fifth and sixth place. After retiring, Pallister stepped away from the world of swimming, however, she eventually found her way back poolside when her daughter began swimming lessons. Soon enough, Pallister began filling in for her daughter’s swim teacher which led her to her becoming one of Australia’s top female coaches. Her passions now lie between focussing on her athletes and increasing female coaching quotas within the Australian sporting landscape.
