Why did you begin your sport?

My eldest sister started playing down at the local fields and it filtered down the family. All 6 siblings and both my parents played so it was certainly a family orientated sport.

Do you have any pre-competition routines or rituals?

The only consistent ritual I have is regripping my hockey stick before every tournament game. I go through about 5 rolls of tape every tournament!

What is your most memorable sporting achievement?

Winning 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medal after scoring the equaliser with 12 seconds left on the clock.

Who has been the most influential person or people in your career and why?

My family would have to be the most influential people in my career. From my dad coaching me for many years as a junior, to playing alongside all of my siblings at some point, through to my amazing mum and dad, husband and family traveling around the world to watch me play international hockey.

Do you have any hobbies away from your sport?

My life away from hockey is very active. I work as a sports coach whilst studying a bachelor of primary education. I also have a 4-month-old baby that keeps me on my toes and two large dogs that I love spending time with. I don't really have time for too many hobbies but I enjoy being busy and balancing life with sport.

What is your sporting ambition?

My sporting ambition is to return to international hockey after starting my family in June last year. Not too many female athletes get the opportunity to have a baby and have a sporting career so i'm going to challenge the possibility to have both. I would love to be standing up on that winner's podium again for 2018 Commonwealth Games and beyond!
