Justin Anlezark

Justin Anlezark (athletics) won the Men’s shot put gold medal at the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games, becoming the first Australian male to win the event. Born in Katherine, Northern Territory but hailing from Toowoomba in Queensland, Anlezark finished seventh at the 1998 Commonwealth Games, and fourth at the 2003 world championships in Paris, becoming the first Australian male to achieve the feat. Placing seventh at the Athens Olympic in 2004 in the shot put competition held in Olympia, Anlezark was an eight-time Australian champion in the shot put.
