Kiera Austin

Kiera Austin (netball) made a stunning recovery from a knee reconstruction to return to the national team in 2022 and make her Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham where she was part of the team that won Australia’s 1000th gold medal. A long co-ordinated shooter with the agility of a mid-courter, Kiera represented Australia at under-19 and under-21 level, including as part of the silver medal-winning World Youth Cup side in 2017. She made her debut for the Giants in 2018, taking out the club’s Most Valuable Player award in 2020 and was added to the Diamonds roster for the Constellation Cup in March 2021. However, shortly after, she suffered a devastating ACL tear in round 1 of the 2021 Super Netball season and a gruelling 10-month rehab followed, denying her a chance to feature in the Giants’ run to the grand final. Kiera suited up with the Melbourne Vixens with renewed passion in 2022 where she formed part of the most dangerous attacking end in the competition alongside Birmingham teammates Kate Moloney and Liz Watson.
