Lauren Bates

Lauren competes in track and road cycling and currently represents the ACT Academy of Sport, having started when she was 7 years old. Her recent achievements include being the Oceania Champion in the Team Pursuit and Points Races, as well as placing second in the Individual Pursuit Track at the same event, while also claiming the silver medal in the National Road Individual Time Trial. Lauren was one of 7 cyclists that were selected for the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games. Tackling both the road and the track, she claimed a top-2 finish in all five of her events, including three golds and two silvers. Winning the women’s individual time trial secured Australia’s first gold medal at the Games, and was the first of 20 total medals claimed by the Aussie cycling team. Her aspirations include turning pro and racing on a World Tour Team, as well as racing in the Tour de Femmes.
