Why did you begin your sport?

I was an elite swimmer up until 17yo. I competed up to open National level as well as the Olympic Games Trials and gained many national titles. At 18 years of age I started triathlon. I raced in a local triathlon as part of a team and loved it straight away. I got a coach and soon after I was on the National Talent ID program. I raced many ITU races before turning to long distance and Ironman events. I won my I have won 3 ironman events and qualified and competed at the Ironman World Championships, Kona, Hawaii where my best result was a 2nd podium place. I turned professional there after.

Do you have any pre-competition routines or rituals?

My idol would be Daniella Ryf. She is the best athlete in the world at Ironman and I was striving to be the best in the world in the coming years. Chrissy Wellington is also my Idol and also one of the greatest athletes in the world. She was kind enough to phone me after my accident. She is beautiful person and I have looked up to her as an athlete ever since I started triathlon.

Who has been the most influential person or people in your career and why?

The most influential person in my career has been my best friend,Brad Fernley. He has been a huge support for 10 years and especially now since my accident. The help he has given me and continues to give me is huge and I am ever so grateful. I wouldn't be the athlete I am today without him and both physically and mentally.

Do you have any hobbies away from your sport?

I play gruiter and ukulele in my spare time. I also love the beach in summer and being around water.
