Lauren Scherf

Lauren Scherf (3×3 basketball) was part of Australia’s first Commonwealth Games women’s 3×3 basketball team in Birmingham that came from behind against New Zealand to bring home the bronze medal. Lauren represented Australia at the 2011 FIBA under-16 Oceania Championships, 2012 FIBA under-17 World Championships, the 2013 FIBA under-19 World Championships (winning bronze) and the 2013 Australian Youth Olympic Festival where she was part of the team that won gold. The 196cm centre began in the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) with the Dandenong Rangers in 2013, playing four seasons with the club and winning the league’s Rookie of the Year in 2015. She then played with the Canberra Capitals from 2017 to 2019, winning the WNBL title in her final year, before moving to the Sydney Uni Flames for the next two years then the Perth Lynx. Lauren was part of the 2019 Australian Uniroos World University Games gold-medal team and named Victoria University’s Female Athlete of the Year that same year.
