Leon Nissen (boxing) fought in the flyweight division at the 1970 Edinburgh Games. Like his identical twin Henry, Leon also won an Australian amateur flyweight title. The pair, born Leon and Henry Nissenbaum, were born in a refugee centre and escaped Germany and arrived in Australia in 1949 when they were one year olds. The brothers are the subject of a book, ‘The Fighter’ which traces their incredible life story.
