Lily Dick

Lily Dick (rugby 7s) was unlucky to only receive game time in the opener against South Africa when she made her Commonwealth Games debut Birmingham. She was the only player in the squad to graduate from the team that won gold at 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games in Bahamas where her performances as vice-captain saw her recognised as the Player’s Player of the tournament.

The Gold Coast born-and-bred forward was inspired to take up rugby after going to the Hong Kong Sevens as a fan with her brother and dad when she was 13. She represented the Palm Beach Currumbin Alleygators as a junior before making her senior debut for Queensland aged 16 at the 2016 National Rugby Sevens Championships in Adelaide. She backed up this performance by captaining Queensland to victory at the Youth National Rugby Sevens Championships in Perth.

The young Queenslander made her Sevens World Series debut in 2018 but was heartbroken to miss selection for the Tokyo Olympics though she hopes to realise her Olympic dream in Paris.

Lily is studying a Bachelor of Exercise Science and business at Griffith University.
