Luke Harvey

Luke Harvey (triathlon) made his Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham as the guide for Sam Harding in the men’s Para-triathlon vision impaired event where the pair won silver. An established triathlete in his own right and a two-time 16-19 age group world champion (2017, 2018), Harvey and Harding scored their first win in their first race together, taking out the Oceania Championships in Devonport in February 2022. Brisbane-based Harvey only met Canberra-based Harding at Melbourne airport en route to the race. The pair spent the week getting to know one another, working together for the first time on the tandem race bike. “Triathlon is a hard enough sport as it is,” Harvey said. “Try doing that whilst being tied to someone else!” Luke is coached by Graham Fidler and is a long-time member of Sharks Triathlon Club at Redlands near Brisbane.
