Luke Zaccaria

Luke Zaccaria (cycling) was the experienced sighted pilot for Beau Wootton at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games where the track events were held at London’s Lee Valley VeloPark which was built for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The pair, who were both making their Commonwealth Games debut, won bronze in tandem sprint B and were 4th in tandem time trial B.

Hailing from Western Australia, Zaccaria was active as a child playing soccer, Australian football and athletics before he was talent-spotted into cycling when he was 13.

In 2020, Zaccaria won three national titles piloting dual Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Brad Henderson. He also guided Henderson to a sixth-place finish in the tandem sprint at the 2019 Para World Championships.
