Maddison Keeney
After winning bronze and two silver, Maddison Keeney (diving) produced double gold at her third Commonwealth Games in Birmingham; in both the 3m individual and 3m synchronised with long-time partner Anabelle Smith, the pair leading from start to finish in a near-faultless performance. She also won silver in mixed 3m synchronised with Li Shixin, despite first training together a week before arriving in Birmingham. It was redemption of sorts for Maddison and Annabelle having won bronze in the 3m synchronised at Glasgow 2014, then going from lead to last four years later on the Gold Coast when she bombed her last dive. Maddison and Anabelle have also enjoyed Olympic success, claiming bronze in the 3m synchronised in Rio in 2016. She is also a dual world championship gold medallist, winning the 1m individual in 2017 and the mixed 3m synchronised with Matthew Carter in 2019. She and Annabelle also won 3m synchronised world championships bronze in Budapest on the eve of the Birmingham Games. New Zealand-born Maddison moved from Perth to Brisbane when she finished high school in 2014 to further her diving career. She has a Bachelor of Physics and Computer Science from the University of Queensland and works for a major insurance company in Brisbane.
