Matthew Wells

Matthew Wells OAM (hockey) is a two-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist helping the Kookaburras to victories at the Manchester 2002 and Melbourne 2006 Games. Hailing from Hobart, Tasmania, the athletic fullback defender was crucial to help Australia capture three Olympic medals, gold at the Athens 2004 Olympics and bronze at the Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008 Games. A three-time Champions Trophy winner, Matthew Wells was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to sport in 2005.
