Miles Scotson

Miles Scotson (cycling) featured in the men’s road race at his second Commonwealth Games in Birmingham after competing on the track in Glasgow in 2014.

Scotson and younger brother Callum Scotson – who represented Australia at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018 – grew up in riding BMX bikes in Adelaide where they lived next door to Jack Bobridge.

Miles had a stellar junior career, winning the junior team pursuit world title in 2012 before claiming both the under-23 road race and time trial at the national titles in 2015. He was part of the Australian team that won senior world titles in the team pursuit in 2014 and 2016 as well as bronze in 2015.

He won bronze in the under-23 time trial at the world championships in Doha in October 2016 and started his senior professional career the following January by winning the elite national road race title.

Scotson joined the WorldTour team BMC Racing in 2018 and made his first appearances in the Giro d’Italia the following year. He switched to the French team Groupama-FDJ in 2021 and made his debut in the Tour de France before linking up with Arkea-Samsic in 2024.
