Nikita Hains

Nikita Hains (diving) was selected as one of seven debutants on the diving team at Birmingham 2022 after winning the women’s 10m platform at the 2022 Australian Diving Championships by the narrowest of margins. In Birmingham, she finished 8th in 10m individual and was 6th in the 10m synchronised with Emily Boyd. Nikita was born in Perth and began diving at 13 after nearly a decade in gymnastics. She quickly progressed in the sport and, while still at high school, competed at the 2018 World Junior Championships in Kiev, finishing 5th in the girls 16-18 years 10m platform synchro with AnnaRose Keating. Although that effort earned Australia a spot at the 2018 Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, she opted to concentrate on her final-year high school exams instead. She made her Olympic debut in Tokyo, finishing 21st in the 10m platform. Nikita is coached by Rick Schavone in Adelaide where she is studying science at the University of Adelaide and hopes to work in medicine.
