Richard Paris

Richard ‘Dick’ Paris (cycling) competed in the road and track events at both the Olympics and Commonwealth Games for Australia. Paris raced on the velodrome track at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics before moving to the road at the 1970 Edinburgh Commonwealth Games but did not finish in the men’s 105-mile road race. Returning to the velodrome at the Commonwealth Games in 1974 in Christchurch, Paris won the gold medal in the 1km time trial. Dick Paris passed away in 2017, aged 75.
