Ryan Cuskelly (squash) teamed up with defending champion Zac Alexander in the men’s doubles at his fourth Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where the pair lost in the quarter finals. Ryan started in squash at the local club in Evans Head in northern NSW, joining as his mother played volleyball. He joined the PSA World Tour in 2006 and picked up his first title a year later at the Top End Open Series. He enjoyed a wonderful 2009, where he claimed four PSA World Tour titles to enter the world’s top 50 at year’s end. By 2015 Cuskelly had moved into the world top 20 and helped by a semi-final spot at the 2016 Hong Kong Open, he reached a career-high world ranking of 12 in March 2017.
