Samantha Dale

Samantha Dale (athletics) will leap for green and gold in the women’s long for the first time at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. Having been crowned the 2019 Australian under-20 champion, Samantha progressed smoothly from the NSW underage pathway into senior ranks. Finding a 6.15m PB and a win at her maiden open championship in March 2019, Dale has since jumped up the rankings. Keeping busy in 2022, Dale found a 6.70m PB and win at the Queensland Championships, a 6.72m at the Melbourne Track Classic two weeks later, and in June, a second place at the Oceania Championships (6.31m). In another first for 2022, the Commonwealth Games debutant launched her international career during the European summer. A handy 6.53m at Thonon-les-Bains was followed up with an appearance at the Italian Championships, clocking 6.41m in the final. Outside of athletics, Dale studies an Associate Degree of Sport Business at the Australian College of Physical Education.
