Steph Wood

One of Australia’s most agile and creative shooters, Diamonds vice-captain Steph Wood (netball) has been part of two medal-winning Commonwealth Games teams, claiming silver on the Gold Coast in 2018 and gold at Birmingham 2022.  The talented goal attack represented Queensland at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level, winning the under-19 Australian Championship with her state and being named Player of the Tournament. Wood played at the AIS in 2010 and 2011, signing with the NSW Swifts in 2014 and making her ANZ Championship debut the following year. After losing consecutive grand finals with the Swifts (2015, 2016), Wood joined the Sunshine Coast Lightning in 2017, winning the competition in 2017 and 2018. She made her senior debut for Australia in 2016 against South Africa and won silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2019 Netball World Cup.
