Tina Rahimi

Tina Rahimi (boxing) lost her semi-final bout to the eventual silver medallist and was awarded bronze at her Commonwealth Games debut at in Birmingham. The former make-up artist started boxing in 2017 as a form of exercise and has had a meteoric rise in the sport; she had her first bout in 2018, was named female boxer of the 2022 Australian selection trials and competed at her first world championships just a few months before the Birmingham Games. Tina trains under Mo Alytim (also known as coach Keefe) at Brotherhood Boxn Club in the Sydney suburb of Greenacre. She also credits Floyd Mayweather’s uncle, Jeff Mayweather, for helping build her confidence in the ring after she had the opportunity to train with him in Las Vegas in 2020. As the first female Muslim boxer to represent Australia at the Commonwealth Games, Tina is an important role model for the Muslim community and young girls and has created the Boxing With Tina Instagram account to encourage others to take up the sport.
