
Uros Nikolic
Uros Nikolic (judo) is the youngest member of the 12-strong judo team in Birmingham and will be another Commonwealth Games debutant at the 2022 Games where he will compete in the men’s 81kg. Born in Serbia, Uros moved to Australia with his family when he was young. He claimed Australian under-18 titles in 2017 and 2018, as well as the Australian under-20 title in 2018. He also won a silver medal in the under 73kg at the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas in 2017. Nikolic took bronze at the Junior Oceania Championship in 2019, then claimed gold at the Canberra Open in 2020 and 2021, before finishing runner up at the Australian titles later that same year. Uros trains at Sydney’s Zenbu Judo Club under coach Joe Costanzo.
