Uros Nikolic

Uros Nikolic (judo) was the youngest member of the 11-strong judo team in Birmingham where was unlucky to lose to the eventual gold medallist in a golden-score quarter final before coming through the repechage to win bronze in the men’s 81kg. Born in Serbia, Uros moved to Australia with his family when he was young. He claimed Australian under-18 titles in 2017 and 2018, as well as the Australian under-20 title in 2018. He also won a silver medal in the under 73kg at the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas in 2017. Nikolic took bronze at the Junior Oceania Championship in 2019, then claimed gold at the Canberra Open in 2020 and 2021, before finishing runner up at the Australian titles later that same year.
