Vannara Be

Vannara Be (weightlifting) is a three-time Commonwealth Games representative in the 62kg weight division. Born in Cambodia, Be, his mother, and his younger sister and Glasgow 2014 teammate Socheata Be moved to Melbourne in 1998 to join Vannara’s father in Australia who was working at a Yarra Valley vineyard. Upon making his debut for Australia at the Delhi 2010 Games, Vannara Be became the first Cambodian-born athlete to represent Australia. Be would go on to finish eighth at Delhi, he also competed at both the Glasgow 2014 and Gold Coast 2018 Games.
