Verd Hamblen

David ‘Verd’ Hamblen (lawn bowls) or more fondly known as Verd, he represented Australia at the 1970 Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh in the fours team, and was International Singles winner in 1979. After representing South Australia on 189 occasions and winning numerous state events, Hamblen was awarded life membership to Bowls SA in 2012. Verd passed away in 2004 at the age of 85.
