Witness some of Australia’s best squash players in person before they head to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games next month.

Five of Australia’s athletes bound for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will headline the Australian National Squash Championships, which are set to get underway at Darwin Squash Centre today.

The Australian National Championships, from 23-26 June, brings together the country’s top squash players and will feature five of Australia’s Squash Commonwealth Games team members with just over 30 days to go until the Birmingham Games.

Local Northern Territory player Rhys Dowling will be returning to his home courts, as well as 6x Commonwealth Games athlete Rachael Grinham, Gold Coast 2018 gold medalist Donna Lobban and debutants Jessica Turnbull and Alex Haydon.

It will be the last chance for the Aussies to play on home soil, and to etch their names in history, with national championships across men’s and women’s divisions up for grabs.

The Australian National Championships will also highlight the next generation of Australian squash talent, with the addition of the U23 age group.
