Her leadership included Paralympics Australia’s operational involvement at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. As Paralympics Australia’s Vice President, Dr Nott played a pivotal role in achieving financial sustainability of the organisation, sponsorship parity for para-athletes and overseeing the successful delivery of the Australian Paralympic Teams to the Rio 2016, Pyeongchang 2018 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Dr Nott’s current board roles include Australian Unity Limited and New Zealand’s Accident Compensation Corporation. She previously served on the boards of QBE Australia Pacific, Healthdirect Australia and Paralympics Australia. In her executive career, Dr Nott held leadership roles with QBE Australia and New Zealand and IAG across strategy, investment and innovation.
CGA President Ben Houston welcomed Dr Nott’s appointment, noting her combination of governance expertise and passion for sport.
“Helen’s depth of experience across sport, finance, and community wellbeing will bring a valuable perspective to the Board as we continue to deliver success for Australia at the Games, while creating lasting impact across communities,” Houston said.
“It has been excellent to welcome her to her first meeting today, and look forward to her continued contributions.”
Dr Nott said she was honoured to join the Board and looks forward to contributing to CGA’s mission.
“The Commonwealth Sport Movement represents excellence, inclusiveness and community,” Dr Nott said.
“I’m excited to bring my experience and expertise to help strengthen and support the vision and mission of Commonwealth Games Australia, ensuring the Games continue to inspire and unite Australians.”
